I'll get the Blab back on track in a few days, but first, I just want to express my surprise that no one shared their "the first time I read Watership Down" stories when I posted the book. C'mon, bunny lovers! How many gallons of tears did you cry during that one?

Ok, my mom rarely banned any form of free speech, but that book was banned when I was growing up. I haven't gotten around to it as an adult.

BJ -- You must read... seriously. Even if it takes a year bc you can only read a page a day.
Snapszen -- Welcome to BunnyBlab! I think it was a great ending, but I was glad I was alone when I finished it, bc I exhausted my extensive tissue supply. And your hubby's right, too. It's very cute. It's funny how much "house rabbits" are just wild bunnies, though. So many of the things in the book, I remember, I was all "Oh, Hops did JUST that the other day."

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not even sure how I found this page. But's good so far. After reading WD I tried to walk away like nothing was wrong but my husband followed me and saw I was crying. He thought he did something wrong. I did find the parallels between the different forms of government and rabbits interesting. I tried to read Tales from Watership Down and it didn't quite get my interest like this book did.
